Cross Mountain Canyon
Located near Dinosaur National Monument, west of Steamboat Springs, Cross Mountain Canyon is a 1,200-foot walled canyon and literally in the middle of nowhere. Flowing through a Wilderness Study Area with no adjacent road, railroad or power lines, this Class III-IV river trip offers everything, from the tight and technical to untamable raging pour overs. A trip down Cross Mountain Canyon will provide you with that world class adventure only a handful of people per year are fortunate enough to experience.

lThe Yampa River through Cross Mountain Canyon is one of our favorite places in the world. The remote wilderness setting, towering canyon walls and Class IV-V rapids truly make for a great river experience. At high water you can see that the river gets really big and nasty.
